What MCCOY offers in support of YOUR Summer Youth Program…

MCCOY is excited to announce we are sponsoring up to 20 Summer Youth Program leaders’ attendance at the 2026 Indiana Summit on Out-of-School Learning, happening April 29 – 30, 2025, in Indianapolis. This is the premier event for out-of-school time providers and advocates! This annual gathering brings together youth programs, educators, community partners, and after-school leaders to explore innovative strategies, share resources, and enhance learning opportunities for Indiana’s youth. Spaces are limited, so please fill out our interest form right away if you are interested in attending.

Calling all directors!
Sign up & join us April 9 for our Director MixerThe Summer Camp Director Mixer provides an excellent opportunity for camp directors to connect, network, and engage in meaningful conversations with their peers. Attendees will enjoy a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where they can share experiences, exchange ideas, and discuss trends. The event also features great food, fostering a casual and enjoyable environment for building relationships within the camp community. Overall, this mixer is a valuable gathering that strengthens local connections and encourages collaboration among summer camp directors.

We use the Findhelp platform to share all the wonderful things you’re doing on the Summer Youth Program website, and we advertise in the community to spread the word. We’re actively publishing more programs every day, but you can help make this process faster by filling out a brief form to get your information shared with the masses.

We provide FREE trainings to your staff so we can all serve youth better every day
Anyone in your organization is welcome and encouraged to attend MCCOY’s trainings free of charge. We provide a variety of trainings designed to meet the needs of youth workers and organizations today. We look forward to meeting your team and building a better world for young people together! We award sub-grants as a part of Youth Working for Indy
Applications are now open for the 2026 Youth Working for Indy program, a special youth employment initiative of the Summer Youth Program Fund which provides $9.50 per hour wage reimbursement for selected youth programs to hire a young person between the ages of 15 – 22. We consider this one of our most important investments in the youth-serving workforce. Funds are limited, so apply soon!

We provide training for youth workers
Rookie Boot Camp aims to prepare new counselors and employees for their roles in ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching experience for campers. Topics include an introduction to camp culture, training within policies, child development, behavior management, activity planning, and team building with leadership development. All youth workers funded by Youth Working for Indy funds are required to attend one of these youth worker training sessions.

CPR Training: This training will go through key steps and considerations for CPR such as scene safety and minimizing interruptions. As a reminder, there is an online course that has to be completed before attending the in-person portion to complete your CPR certification.

For organizations looking for extra personalized support on growing their program, improving their service to youth, or optimizing logistics and intake processes, MCCOY commissions certified assessors and trainers to guide your organization through the unique challenges of youth programming today. We celebrate Summer Learning Day

Save the date! MCCOY will be hosting Summer Learning Day at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis on June 24, 2026. SYPF organizations can bring their youth FREE to The Children’s Museum in our annual celebration acknowledging the critical role that summer programs play in the development of a child. Space is limited, so plan ahead! Look for the registration in an upcoming newsletter.
We celebrate youth on your team with the Excellence in Summer Service Awards
Keep an eye out this summer for nominations for our annual ESSA awards! Every year, MCCOY celebrates exceptional youth serving on SYPF teams by awarding $1000 to 20+ high school/college youth who work or volunteer in a Summer Youth Program. We will launch this program and open the application process in June – look for information as we get closer!
We promote your program
If you are hiring for the summer or need a boost on registrations, we are happy to share a flyer or job posting link on the Summer Youth Programs social media pages! Email your graphics and/or links to DJ Cleveland at dj.cleveland@mccoyouth.org and ask for your announcement to be promoted on SYPF social media.In addition, we are commissioning an ad campaign to promote ALL SYPF programs this summer, beginning in March. We want to see as many youth as possible enrolled in programming.
